One Church Tour - Richmond VA

The Crowd Shot
The One Church Tour took place on Brown's Island.
The attendance was over 12,000. Richmond worshipers and concert goers arrived early. This concert was a free event, in fact, so many people came out that some had to be tured away. The gates opened at 8:30am and service started at 10:00am. The One Church Tour concert started shortly after the service. During the service three large tour buses were excorted to the area behind the stage.

This concert was sponsored by St. Paul's Baptist Church where Rev. Lance Watson is the pastor. St. Paul also celebrated their Annual Homecoming Service on Brown's Island.

NASCAR RACING at RIR

Richmond International Raceway (RIR)
September 8, 9, 10, 2005

Report by: Paulette Singleton

NOTE: Visit our site again for additional photos from the race.

Once again NASCAR racing took place in Richmond, Virginia and I was apart of the Media staff covering the event. It’s my understanding that people camp out days before the racing takes place.

I have lived in Richmond most of my life and this year was the first year that I attended any race at RIR. Yes I have visited the location many times, to attend different events like the computer show, the doll show, arts and crafts, of course, the Virginia State Fair.

How I got involved was when a friend ask me to come along to be his photographer and to capture some of the behind the scene activities.

I was highly impressed with the how techno savvy the racing industry has become. A great number of media, press, reporters and photographers attend the NASCAR races. There are rooms set up for the press and photographers wired with Ethernet cables for direct Internet access. This type of setup will allow anyone to report immediately what is happen at the racetrack via their laptop.

On September 9th, I had the pleasure and opportunity to see and talk to Mr. Bill Lester. I first met him in Washington, DC at the National Press Club. Mr. Lester is an African racecar driver. Mr. Lester participated in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. As you may know the Truck series will not race again in Richmond, VA. Mr. Bill Lester of Oakland, CA drives a Toyota Truck # 22, team name: SunTrust Toyota, Crew Chief: Doug Wilcott.

An Update: Bishop Paul S. Morton Lost His Home And One Of His Sanctuaries To Hurricane Katrina

Bishop Paul S. Morton lost his brand new home that was built last year to hurricane Katrina.

He also said that the main sanctuary, one of three; was totally lost, the uptown sanctuary sustained some water and other minor damages and the West Bay sanctuary was in pretty good shape.

Bishop Morton is stranded in the state of New Jersey although he wants to be with his flock. Our prayers go out to Bishop Morton, his congregation and the people of Louisiana.

Dr. Kenneth Levar Riddle - background singer: Tye Tribette and GA

Washington, D.C. -- Dr. Kenneth Levar Riddle, whose soulful tenor voice glorified the Lord through the gift of gospel music, has passed from his earthly life, through the Grace of God, into the eternal life promised in Holy Scripture. A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. Riddle, affectionately known as "Kenneth" to his family, friends, fans, and his fellow members of Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing, will be missed by all.

Many of the high spirited moves and choreography of Greater Anointing were the results of the talented and spirit-filled heart of Kenneth. Kenneth was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on June 27, 1980, to Gail Riddle-LaRoda and Kenneth L. Riddle. He received his early education in the City of Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed High School in the State of New Jersey. Having been at the top of his classes throughout Elementary, Junior High and High School, it was no wonder that he would excel in college where he matriculated at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in 2004 with a Doctor of Pharmaceuticals Degree. This brilliant young man maintained his status on the Dean's List during his entire college career.

Kenneth had a profound love for the Lord and was saved at a very early age at the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon his relocation, with his loving mother, to the City of Camden, New Jersey at the age of 10, Kenneth became a member of the El Bethel Church of Christ in Camden. He went on to become a member of Restoring Life Church in Baltimore, Maryland, under the leadership of Pastor Ken and was a faithful member until his passing.

Kenneth epitomized the meaning of "Remember thy creator in the days of thy youth." Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2005 at the Empowerment Temple Church, 4217 - 4221 Primrose Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215 with Dr. Kenneth O. Robinson II officiating. The viewing will convene at 8:00am, followed by the Home Going Celebration at 10:00am.

For more information contact Restoring Life International Church at 410-415-6400.
